Position Title: Assembly Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Davenport, IA
Assignment Length: 12 Months
Shift: 1st shift, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. (Overtime: May be required if requested; approximately 5–8 additional hours)

Pay Rate: $45/Hr. (W2 through KellyOCG)

Position Summary

As an Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) Assembly Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the Loader Cabs assembly line at John Deere Davenport Works. This role focuses on improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and ergonomics while providing hands-on engineering support and troubleshooting for current assembly operations.

The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead capital projects, develop manufacturing processes, and maintain assembly documentation and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous-improvement projects focused on:
  • Safety
  • Quality
  • Delivery
  • Cost reduction
  • Ergonomics
• Lead and manage small- to moderate-scope capital projects.
• Establish and maintain assembly-operation documentation, including:
  • Work-center layouts
  • Labor standards
  • Manufacturing methods
  • Sequences of Events
• Analyze, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for current assembly operations.
• Identify and implement cost-reduction, quality-improvement, safety, and ergonomic opportunities for Loader Cabs assembly.
• Collaborate with operators, peers, leadership, maintenance, quality, and other engineering teams.
• Support project implementation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Maintain accountability for project follow-through, action items, and results.
• Promote a positive and engaged team environment.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of experience with one or more of the following:
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Quality
  • Tooling
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Facilities
• Experience using engineering tools and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Experience leading and implementing projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills with operators, peers, and leadership.
• Self-motivated with the ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong personal accountability and follow-through.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technology discipline, or equivalent related work experience.

Preferred Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience in:

• Industrial Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• A related engineering or technology discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting cab, loader, or other complex assembly operations.
• Experience with manufacturing process development and improvement.
• Experience with assembly layouts, labor standards, methods, and production documentation.
• Experience with tooling, facilities, preventive maintenance, or manufacturing technology.
• Experience leading capital projects.
• Experience implementing cost, safety, quality, delivery, or ergonomic improvements.
