Position Title: Material Coordinator

Location: Davenport, IA

Assignment Length: 24 Months

Shift: 1st shift, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. (Overtime and Weekends: Flexibility required based on changing business demands) (Typical Workweek: Frequently approximately 50 hours; workdays typically range from 8–10 hours)

Pay Rate: $34/Hr (W2 through KellyOCG for John Deere)
Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the near future for this position.

Position Summary

The Material Coordinator will work as a functional team member and service provider within the Operations and Supply Management teams. This position is responsible for overseeing production material availability and ensuring direct materials are scheduled and available at the appropriate work center on time.

The successful candidate will primarily use the SAP Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system to schedule, coordinate, and control inventory. Candidates should understand manufacturing demands, supply and logistics flow, and the importance of providing strong internal customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor production material availability and ensure materials are available when needed.
• Schedule and coordinate direct materials for assigned work centers.
• Use SAP MRP or an equivalent system to manage material requirements and inventory.
• Schedule, coordinate, and control production inventory.
• Analyze supply, inventory, and production data to identify issues and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Management teams to resolve material-related concerns.
• Support efficient supply and logistics flow throughout the manufacturing operation.
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding material status, shortages, and priorities.
• Adjust priorities in response to changing production and business demands.
• Provide service-oriented support to internal customers and production teams.
• Help identify and implement process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in supply management, materials management, manufacturing operations, logistics, or a related field.
• Understanding of manufacturing requirements and production material flow.
• Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous or current military experience.
• Experience using SAP or an equivalent MRP or inventory-management system.
• Experience scheduling, coordinating, or controlling production inventory.
• Experience working with Operations or Supply Management teams.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, materials, logistics, or production operations.
• Strong internal customer-service mindset.
