Position Title: Supply Management Specialist

Location: Kernersville, NC
Assignment Length: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $35/hour (W2 through KellyOCG)

Position Summary

John Deere Kernersville is seeking a Supply Management Specialist to support continuous-improvement, cost-reduction, risk-mitigation, and engineering-change initiatives. This role will partner with engineering teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to implement product improvements on time, control costs, and minimize disruption to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cost-reduction and risk-mitigation projects from planning through completion.
• Support the Engineering Change Management process.
• Coordinate design changes and product improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and suppliers on product specifications.
• Recommend solutions that balance quality, performance, and total cost.
• Develop implementation plans and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources and deliverables.
• Analyze data and use sound business judgment to support supply-chain decisions.
• Maintain effective supplier relationships and communication.

Required Qualifications

• Project leadership experience, including planning, coordinating resources, and delivering results.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Ability to influence without authority and work effectively across functions.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Kernersville, NC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of supply-chain experience.
• Experience managing supplier relationships.
• Manufacturing or factory experience.
• Experience with cost reduction, risk mitigation, purchasing, or engineering-change projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
