Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Fabrication
Location: Dubuque, IA
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM); Overtime as required 

Pay Rate: $52/hr (W2 through KellyOCG for John Deere) 

Assignment Length:12 Months
Visa Sponsorship: Not available now or in the near future

Position Summary

As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work supporting machining, sheet metal, and tool design processes. You’ll collaborate in a team environment to develop and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and engineering solutions that align with safety, quality, cost, and project objectives. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing requirements and define process steps, machinery, tooling, and equipment needed for production
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and systems to meet cost and quality goals
  • Develop engineering solutions and coordinate feasibility testing for process
    validation
  • Prepare and apply technical engineering specifications and support engineering
    standards
  • Inspect equipment, installations, and processes, recommending corrective actions as needed
  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes and implement improvements using
    approved change management systems
  • Coordinate activities with suppliers, subcontractors, and external partners per
    project plans
  • Support product development by analyzing customer needs and delivering
    manufacturing solutions
  • Manage engineering activities in accordance with project schedules, plans, and
    goals
  • Provide technical support and guidance to others on engineering and knowledge
    management systems 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering (machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, equipment, or related)
  • Ability to develop, implement, test, and improve engineering designs and
    manufacturing solutions
  • Experience with technical engineering specifications preparation and application
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, interpreting complex/conflicting
    information
  • Project planning, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication for various audiences
  • Confident decision-maker with accountability for commitments
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, relevant regulations, and risk management
  • Collaborative skills for working with production teams, suppliers, and contractors

  • Experience designing or improving machining, sheet metal, tooling, or related
    processes
  • Proven ability to diagnose operational issues and implement engineering solutions
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, or external partners
  • Ability to design feasibility testing and assess engineering outcomes
  • Skilled in creating technical specifications, documentation, and reports
  • Familiarity with project management, contract management, costing, or budgeting
  • Continuous improvement mindset and ability to identify inefficiencies
  • Aptitude for providing technical guidance and aligning stakeholders with diverse
    priorities 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Equivalent education, training, or relevant professional experience will be
    considered
