Position Title: Quality Engineer
Location: East Moline, IL
Assignment Length: 12 Months
Schedule: 1st shift, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Must be willing to flex and support variable shifts as needed.
Pay Rate: $50/Hr (W2 through KellyOCG for John Deere)
Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the near future for this position.
Safety Requirement: Metatarsal safety boots required on Day 1
Position Summary
The Quality Engineer will support the Quality Services Team throughout factory engineering processes. This role will provide quality engineering support in the following areas:
In-line inspection
Tool and gauge asset management
GD&T analysis and CMM inspection
Non-conformance processing and containment
Process documentation and control
The Quality Engineer will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Supply Management, and shop floor personnel to ensure process compliance and support inspection and containment activities.
Key Responsibilities
Support in-line inspection activities.
Manage tool and gauge assets.
Perform or support GD&T analysis and CMM inspections.
Process non-conformances and coordinate containment activities.
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Management to ensure process compliance.
Use SAP, NCCA, DNCM, and other applicable tools to process and complete assigned work.
Support shop floor staff, including handlers and inspectors, with containment and inspection activities.
Prepare and provide daily report-out documentation.
Communicate daily priorities and completed work.
Report completed assignments and outstanding activities.
Maintain process documentation and controls.
Support factory engineering and quality processes.
Adapt to changing business needs, priorities, and processes.
Required Qualifications
Strong manufacturing experience.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to engage, learn, and adapt to changing business needs.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to prioritize assignments and communicate work status.
Ability to work onsite in a factory environment.
Ability to work 1st shift, variable shifts, and overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming.
Experience with ISO standards or quality systems.
Experience creating data and analytics tools.
Experience with SAP, NCCA, DNCM, or similar quality and manufacturing systems.
Experience with non-conformance processing and containment.
Experience with in-line inspection and process documentation.
Experience supporting quality processes in a manufacturing environment.
Education and Experience
Experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, inspection, metrology, or a related field is preferred.
Additional education or technical training in engineering, manufacturing, quality, metrology, or a related discipline is a plus.
