Position Title: Tactical (OFP) Quality Engineer
Location: Moline, IL
Assignment Length: 6 Months

Shift: 1st shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Pay Rate: $40/hr (W2 through KellyOCG for John Deere)

Position Summary

The Tactical Quality Engineer will support nearly every aspect of quality operations at the John Deere Cylinder Moline Factory. This position provides hands-on, day-to-day quality support within a machining and manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to work directly with production teams to identify quality concerns, analyze data, and implement effective corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support production-floor quality processes, including:
  • Scrap processing
  • Nonconforming material management
  • Material Review Board (MRB) activities
  • Cleanliness testing
• Serve as the primary Quality contact for multiple manufacturing departments, including:
  • Machining
  • Plating
  • Welding
  • Assembly
• Provide daily hands-on support to operators regarding concerns that may affect product quality.
• Investigate production and quality issues using structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Gather and analyze quality and production data.
• Drive corrective-action activities within assigned teams.
• Support quality reporting requirements.
• Maintain automated data-collection systems, including:
  • QDAS
  • JDAAT
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve product and process performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, nonconforming material, and recurring quality issues.

Required Qualifications

• Experience supporting quality operations in a machining or manufacturing facility.
• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively on a production floor.
• Experience supporting operators and manufacturing teams.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple quality issues and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Moline, Illinois, five days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scrap, nonconforming material, MRB, or cleanliness-testing processes.
• Experience supporting machining, plating, welding, or assembly operations.
• Experience with QDAS.
• Experience with JDAAT.
• Experience with automated data-collection systems and quality reporting.
• Experience driving corrective actions and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
