Position Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Pay Rate: $26.50/hour (W2 through KellyOCG for John Deere)
Assignment Length: 24 Months
Shift: 1st shift (Overtime/Weekend/On-Call: Possible but rare)
Travel: Up to 25%, including travel to remote John Deere Training and Demo sites across the country

Position Summary

The Infrastructure Engineer will provide onsite Tier 2 deskside support at the John Deere Commons location and assist remote John Deere Training and Demo sites. This role supports end users, hardware, software, printers, inventory, assets, and standard IT processes.

The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, basic networking and security knowledge, effective communication, and the ability to follow established procedures and knowledge-base documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite Tier 2 deskside support at the John Deere Commons location.
  • Support remote John Deere Training and Demo sites that do not have dedicated onsite IT teams.
  • Image and deploy computers.
  • Resolve ServiceNow tickets and monitor assigned queues.
  • Replace printer toner, pickup rollers, and other basic printer components.
  • Dispose of outdated IT assets according to established procedures.
  • Update and maintain asset records in Asset Center.
  • Follow knowledge-base articles and unit-specific procedures to resolve technical issues.
  • Document troubleshooting activities, process information, and problem resolutions.
  • Create and maintain basic documents and records, including:
    • Contact lists
    • Process logs
    • Problem incident reports
    • Customer information updates
    • Exterior shipment orders
    • Inventory records
    • Maintenance records
    • Service records
  • Communicate effectively with end users, suppliers, and internal contacts through email and other standard business channels.
  • Recognize problems that fall outside established procedures and report them to the appropriate support teams.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, inventory, and process-support data.
  • Schedule routine equipment maintenance.
  • Order supplies and monitor inventory levels.
  • Interact with suppliers as needed.
  • Apply basic technical knowledge to support computers, printers, networks, and end-user operations.
  • Follow established security policies and IT support procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computing concepts and networking fundamentals.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with intranet and internet functions.
  • Knowledge of computer security policies and general security concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using documented solutions and knowledge-base articles.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work onsite and travel to remote support locations.
  • High school diploma, secondary diploma, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of IT experience.
  • Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience providing deskside, desktop, or Tier 2 technical support.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
  • Experience with asset management systems, such as Asset Center.
  • Experience supporting printers, computer imaging, hardware deployment, and asset disposal.
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

Work Schedule and Travel

  • 1st shift, onsite.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
  • Travel may include remote John Deere Training and Demo locations across the country.
  • Overtime, weekend work, and on-call support may occasionally be required but are expected to be rare.
