Position Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Waterloo, IA
Shift: 1st shift, 6:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Pay Rate: $38/hour (W2 through KellyOCG)
Assignment Length: 24 Months
Visa Sponsorship: Not available now or in the future

Position Summary

Join John Deere’s Drivetrain Operations team as a hands-on Quality Engineer. You’ll support production quality, monitor critical processes, analyze performance data, and partner with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve issues and improve product quality.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • At least one year of quality or manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; internships do not count.
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as GD&T, FMEA, SPC, root-cause analysis, and 8D.
  • Strong communication, organization, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead corrective actions and adapt to changing priorities.

Experience with drivetrain components, control plans, MSA, Gauge R&R, capability studies, data-analysis tools, or ASQ certifications is preferred. Recent graduates may be considered.

Work Environment

  • Approximately 60% of the day is spent on the shop floor and on your feet.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Metatarsal safety footwear required on the first day.
  • Onsite interviews preferred.
  • May operate a John Deere Gator inside the facility after safety training; occasional local travel using a personal vehicle may be required.
